Ryan Thorell got an early start building guitars at 14-years-old. He was already playing quite a bit at the time, and like many rockers his age, he was big into Metallica and Skid Row. It was fitting that his first guitar design included a “battle-axe headstock with an eyeball logo crying blood down the fretboard.”

The soundboard on this vintage-burst finished beauty is spruce; while the back, sides, binding, and neck are carved from maple.

Since building his first guitar at age thirteen, Ryan Thorell has been involved with guitars on both ends of the spectrum. He grew fond of playing, and studied with both Frank Vignola and Bruce Forman, becoming a talented jazz guitarist and teacher in the process. Thorell also became interested in the construction of the guitars themselves, apprenticing with luthier Tim Gonzalez and studying Designed in collaboration with the renowned Ryan Thorell of Thorell Guitars, this guitar showcases the unique vision and signature style of Frank Vignola. The sound ranges incredibly from very woody and sweet using strong picking attacks all the way to dark and mellow when taking a lighter approach.
